Paprika written by Tsutsui Yasutaka is a book I have found at a secondhand book store in Koh Samui. It was there, it was cheap and I like Japanese translated to English. So I thought it is a win win situation.
But what I forgot was that I don't really care for surrealism. And this one was surrealist. I know that there is a film adaptation too and I was curious about from time to time, but now that I've read the book, I won't be seeking it out unless it is put in front of me free of charge.
Don't get me wrong, it is not a bad novel, at all. But I just don't like the genre so it didn't appeal to me.
