The Goddess Chronicles

The Goddess Chronicles was chosen by me due to Natsuo Kirino. I like her ever since I have read 'Out'. This one is a little different than her contemporary novels. It is a myth re imagined/re written or a story based on a myth. I liked it not only due to the tragic story but also, maybe more, to the prose. Also I love English translations of Japanese novels. For some reason, they bring me much pleasure.

Anyway this is only recommended if one is already familiar with the author and/or loves myths. Otherwise skip.
