Desperate Duchesses were among a bunch of romance novels I have picked up at an on line second hand bookstore. I don't remember having read any other Eloisa James novel before and I hoped to like it as much as Lisa Kleypass or Judith McNaught. Alas it was not to be. This one is a bit too cute for my taste and despite the fact that I applaud the progressive approach as far as feminism went the romance was just not to my taste. The only things I liked were the intimate scenes. They were written without any stupid similie for organs.
