I have finished Capital Scandal last night and in the end, loved it. Cried rivers etc.
My only pet peeve is the courtesan dying. As seen in many Indian films, the whore dies and the vituous woman gets a happy ending. Other than that I like the show so much and the ending was good in general.
The TV shows I have watched this weekend (just to mention)
Grey's Anatomy Season 8 - I love this show and how it got good again. Meredith is someone I really like to watch. And she looks so natural too.
The Good Wife Season 3 Great show and it didn't lose steam so far.
New Girl I somehow keep watching despite the show making Zoey Deschanel over cool (it is just overkill)
Raising Hope Nothing new there but the baby's cute
Glee Season 3 or 4? I like watching song and dance. That's all.
Hmmm this weekend was not very productive isn't it?

Capital Scandal - still
Well, still because it is not good in the way that I want to watch it constantly and can't bear to leave it. But despite the fact that I'm able to leave it during an episode I actually can't call it bad. I guess this is one of the shows I appreciate more than I love. There are very good points in the show for instance I do like it that the main couple struggles their relationship not due to misunderstandings or interruption from evil secondary leads/mothers but for a solid reason which is the difference in their ideology and the difference in the way they want to live the rest of their lives. One is a freedom fighter (trying to liberate Chosun from Japanese invasion) and the other is a playboy who lost his brother and best friend (this one not through death but betrayal) to the said freedom fight. But they truly love eachother and I'm hoping that they will be able to find a common ground (in this case he will probably turn freedom fighter as well since it is the right thing to do).
The secondary couple is also interesting. The courtesan who is an undercover freedom fighter/assassin and the high level police officer of the Japanese government. They have met ages ago and liked eachother but now are on the opposite sides.
I have been impatient and watched the previews of this coming episode where our intrepid heroine is taken to the police station yet again but this time she will be tortured (this is so sad and maybe the reason why I stopped watching).
Also I thought this show was going to be sixteen episodes but it will probably be longer.

Capital Scandal Eps4
Last evening I have somehow gotten out early from work (which is a rarity since where I work is in the middle of nowhere and I can't drive a car). My manager is relocating and we are looking at houses with him and his wife. So I have ended up being the bigger of the two shopping malls we have in town and gave my mother and my cousing a call to join me there. My cousing's husband is at the hospital for about a month. First it was the lungs, they performed a biopsy and found nothing but then instead of letting him go, they have done an endoscophy to his stomach, performed another biopsy to his liver and we are currently waiting for the results of that. So my cousin is in a pretty bad place as far as being happy goes. Now the assumption that she'll cheer up when we start to shop was a correct one and we ended up purchasing slippers for my mom and my cousin (but in the end there was an extra slipper which they convinced me to use) a t-shit for my sister, a sweater for my cousing and two denim trousers for me.
Anyhow when I returned I had to eat the three slices of pizza I saved for breakfast and then sunflower seeds. And I have watched two more episodes of Capital Scandal. It is a good show but I'm not invested in any of the characters, still annoyed with Han Ji Min (though no fault of her) and Kang Ji Hwan's voice is something terrible.

Wish Upon a Star - End, Capital Scandal
I have finished Wish Upon A Star and loved it till the very end. It served all my drama kicks and also it was good that I don't remember watching the actors, they somehow felt real to me despite the fact that none of them was an acting champion. There is one thing to say about Korean actors though and it is that they are the best on screen criers in the world. The kids were all adorable too :)
And I was thinking of watching an Indian film (Jootha Hi Sahi) or giving I Come With The Rain a try (people swear that it is awful in the worst possible way, not even entertaining awful that is - and of course I'm all the more interested). However rule of a Korean drama was too strong and I have started watching Capital Scandal (a drama that is recommended by everyone and so hard to find - I have managed to find a legit copy at a small shop in Chinatown, Honolulu). An episode and a half in - yeah I was so tired yesterday - and I like it but not really loving it. Fave character so far is the gisaeng (Korean courtesan). Kang Ji Hwan still doesn't affect me in any way. I do however think that he is a good actor. And the female lead Han Ji Min is someone I don't like, maybe because the first time I remember watching her was in that awful Cain and Abel. I hope to like her better in this one though and so far so good but not awesome since I managed to turn it off halfway at the second episode.

Wish Upon a Star- Eps -14, Green Hornet, Yalan Dünya
Wish Upon a Star is still going good with lots of angst but they are smart enough not to exclude the children.
Green Hornet I enjoyed this despite the silliness and think it a decent entertainer but if you don't care for Michael Gondry type of humour then do not give this a try.
Yalan Dünya (lit. The World That is a Lie) This Turkish sit-com is a long awaited one since it is the same writer for another one that is much loved (Avrupa Yakası - lit.European Side) and they are very very similar too except one character. I keep watching it for some reason despite the fact that I don't think it is particularly good.
Meanwhile The Historian is awesome.

Kurtuluş Son Durak
Kurtuluş Son Durak (This is a name of a neighbourhood in Istanbul, but also literal translation is "Salvation Last Stop)
A physco therapist who is ditched days before her wedding closes up her practise and moves into the flat she was supposed to move in after she got married. Curious neighbours are a hairdresser, an ex bar singer (who is the mistress of a married mobster), a housewife who is a victim of spousal abuse, an older woman who takes care of her ancient father and an alcoholic writer.
They were intrusive and curious about her at first and she tells them off but when she tried to committed suicide (only to be found and saved by a burglar) they are all there for her never leaving her alone. She in return tries to find a way to help her abused neighbour - she calls the police but the detective is friends with the abusive husband.
This film is a black comedy and actually was very funny, I guess to females. It killed a bit of the humour by trying to hammer a message into our heads (Turkey unfortunately is one of the countries where women are killed or currently beaten by their spouses and these monster men do not get enough jail time to prevent this sort of crime). All the same I had a good time despite the female lead not being able to act (the rest of the cast were excellent).

Wish Upon a Star 9
Wish Upon a Star is getting better and better with each episode I'm only worried that it will take the focus away from the kids (they are simply adorable, and make me cry). Also the secondary girl is really spooky. Gang ha doesn't like you, he continuously says that he only sees you as a little sister and not a very close one at that and you keep on coming on to him and want him to marry you. Seriously what is wrong with that girl? This kind of feeling is one that I have hard time understanding. The female lead is nice but the actor is not so good. I keep imagining Kim Sun Ah instead of her and feel like I'd enjoy this more if it cast her. But this is a very minor complaint (not even a complaint).

Wish Upon A Star 1-3
Yes I have started to watch yet another Korean drama. I got them in Hawaii and I'm very very happy that I did. No duds except Queen of No Marriage (which is not that much of a dud but which I liked the least so far, and it is not Korean it is Taiwanese).
Wish Upon A Star seems like a drama I'd enjoy. There are adopted kids (5 of them different ages, one a baby), heroine who was clueless but had a rude awakening (mom & stepdad suddenly died at a car accident), a frozen hero who doesn't seem to have any feelings but will probably thaw and fall in love with our heroine, a despicable villain (the daughter in law -oh Korea why so similar to Turkey?- who hired killers for the aforementioned accident aaaaannnnd forced cohabitation one of the most attractive story tropes :) 3 Episodes in and so far so good. Despite the fact that I have never laughed out loud (but I very seldom do) I have actually cried twice (oh those adorable kids).

Tigerlilly's Orchids - End, Roommate, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows - 1, Once Upon a Time in Anatolia, How Do You Know, The Historian
Tigerlilly's Orchids ended and it was good to the last drop.
I have started The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova (I loved her The Swan Thieves) and I'm in love with this book already and I'm not even halfway through yet.
The films I have watched this weekend (I didn't start any drama this time, maybe tonight :) )
Roommate This film was just plain bad
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1 This was on TV and my mother wanted to watch it so I watched it again and liked it fine (cried again when Dobbie died).
Once Upon a Time in Anatolia
I love the director Nuri Bilge Ceylan and this film was very good. I didn't like the acting though but no problem, in his films I don't even mind when the acting is this bad (especially in comparison to 3 Monkeys and Uzak where the acting was very very good).
How Do I Know I like Reese Witherspoon, I like Owen Wilson I don't care for Paul Rudd. In the this ended up being an OK film. I'm not even sure whether it was a rom com or not.

Couple or Trouble - End
I have LOVED Couple or Trouble right to the end. And this is very suprising since I don't particularly care for either lead (Oh Ji Oh cannot act and this is the first time I have seen Han Ye Seoul). This drama was all about "big" acting and they managed to handle it really well. Or - after watching NG shots of it I think it is safe to say - the director did a very good job.
I have never heard this one being well liked among drama lovers on net but it is one of my all time favorites now.

Couple or Trouble 11
Yes, unfortunately I have watched 6 Episodes last night. That was an unfortunate binge since I'll probably suffer at work today but I simply couldn't help myself. I do love this show and I hope that it will stick being so awesome until the end.

Couple or Trouble 3-4-5
I'm enjoying Couple or Trouble so much. It is rare for me to laugh out loud while watching something - I'm more inclined to cry- but with this drama it is almost laugh a minute. I love the leads Han Ye Soul has the type that I like to look at and while Oh Ji Oh normally doesn't do it for me (I only remember watching him in Chuno and the only many I have my eyes on in that one was Jang Hyuk) and he is not a good actor but this type of comedy requires him to play it big and he does it beautifully. This story is one I really like and they did a great job so far remaking it.
As usual I don't like the secondary female. She is just so immature and she left our hero when he has to take care of his three nephews. Yes it is not easy to be responsible for three small boys but if you love a man you stand by him. No?

My Princess - End, Ve Geri Kalan Herşey - End, Couple or Trouble 1 & 2, Tigerlilly's Orchids
My Princess ended in a very nice manner. The baddie was served her just desserts but also got a chance of redemption and happiness with her OTP. Our adorable couple kept being adorable, sexy and charming. All in all I was happy.
Ve Geri Kalan Herşey was ok. Not as good as her first book but it was entertaining enough and I had a good time with it.
Now I have started Ruth Rendell's Tigerlilly's Orchids and I'm loving it even though it is just the beginning yet. I love Ms.Rendell's writing style and the way she slowly reveals things about her characters. Great writer.
I also started my long searched white whale, aka Couple or Trouble. Episodes 1 & 2 were lovely. I always laugh out loud at Hong Sister dramas. Their humour totally works for me and the actors are all very good so far. I do like the film Overboard and this drama is based on that film. So far, so good.

My Princess 4-8
I love My Princess more and more with each episode. The leads are so pretty and the villain is truly despicable. But most important thing is that the chemistry between the leads is amazing. So good!
I really like PuCCa's last book too. It is very entertaining but as it goes along I'm not sure I like it as much as the first one.

1Q84 - End, My Princess 1-4 and Ve Geri Kalan Herşey
I have finished 1Q84 the day before yesterday (and I LOVE the fact that it is such a romantic book with a great ending) and started PuCCa Günlük Ve Geri Kalan Herşey (lit.translation)And Everything That Remained This is a book written by a blogger and normally I'm not into blogger turned novelist writers but this woman is really talented and hillarious. It is like a Turkish version of Brigitte Jones - and I'm loving it, laughing out loud while reading.
Meanwhile I have delved into my precious stash (from Hawaii :) ) and started watching My Princess and it is such a pretty drama, mainly because the lead actors Kim Tae Hee and Song Seung Heun are both so pretty. I really like looking at beautiful people but to top it off they have father who died angst (which still always gets me even though it has been more than 10 years since my father passed away). I was in tears last night over this. All in all I'm happy thank God.

1Q84 Still
I'm caught in the web of 1Q84 and I'm not complaining. I can't get enough of Murakami so everything else is on hold. No films (well all Sunday I have watched Pirates of the Caribbean and the latest episode of The Good Wife but that was pretty much it), no dramas just Murakami.
