The Whisper Man

The Whisper Man did not work for me sadly. The whole thing felt a bit pat. It is not bad but not as good as I was led to believe.

Ajji

Ajji is a tough film to watch but it is a good film with excellent acting and a good ending.

When The Camellia Blooms

When The Camellia Blooms completely got me unprepared. Gong Hyo Jin is not an actress I especially care for but I now realise that I like all her projects. Kang Ha Neul never interested me and he is fantastic in this (come to think of it, Gong Hyo Jin has great chemistry with all her co stars). I loved this drama to bits and enjoyed all 20 episodes. Also I must have cried a bucketful of tears but in a good way.

My Country

My Country turned out to be a love story between two close childhood friends against the background of a turbulent time in Korean history, the birth of Joseon. I was already familiar with the story since Six Flying Dragons was such a riveting show but this one not to much. There were a lot of face splattered with blood shots. One of the two main lovers was bisexual since he seemed to have some feels for the female lead but the main romance was something else. These two clashed very often but also their chemistry was amazing. Despite that and the gorgeous cinematography the show was a bore. Except Jang Hyuk who shone like a jewel in the role that was also excellently played by Yoo Ah In. Bang Won starts out as a hero but turns a villain in the end. I love Jang Hyuk so I was happy with his scenes.

The Border

The Border is the final chapter of a cartel trilogy and it felt very real in some ways. It is a good ending to a very interesting story. I liked the performance too.

Tumbbad

Tumbbad is as good as they say it is. Great atmosphere, art direction and story. And acting from a well selected cast. If you like Guillermo Toro films then definitely see this one. It is similar but different in all the good ways.

6 Underground

6 Underground, oh Michael Bay, man, this could have been a good film but ended up not being one. I liked the international cast (all very good) and ..... the costumes??? At least I didn't dnfed it. That's something in its favour too no? Oh also Doron was there! When is the third season of Fauda coming?

The Amber Spyglass

The Amber Spyglass for me was the weakest in the trilogy since it suffered from "everything but the kitchen sink" syndrome I'm sort of averse to. Other than it was a fitting end to a good story and I liked many of the messages. I don't understand the need to not believe in God though. I understand the dislike of organised religion but not disbelief (well of course as a believer it is normal that I'd think so) Also believing God does not prevent you from being good, curious, cheerful and intelligent. Anyway I'm not going to get into that.

Triad Princess

Triad Princess  well there is not enough of content but the main leads and the visuals were very nice. I also liked the LBGTQ representation and easy on the eye art direction. But again there is very little content. It is like a wannabe Korean drama but without the, yep, content.

Terrace House: Opening New Doors

Terrace House: Opening New Doors made me realise that I have been watching this with short intervals since there seems to be a pattern and now I see it (I saw it too late I guess). However there was a guy who picks his nose (thank God they had not shown it) that made me turn off from picking my nose. At least there was that.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 3

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel this writer has certain kicks, a brunette lead with a motor mouth who has wealthy parents, a slightly overweight, quirky side kick and an ex lover/husband who goes between being awful and very nice. If you are into it then it is a treat but there is a chance that you may find it annoying. I like it and the 8 episodes sped by.

Marriage Story

Marriage Story turned out to be Noah Baumbach's best film (among the ones I have watched) and I love Adam Driver in anything but in this film his performance is easily the best among a perfect cast. Yep, ever since Patterson I have been crushing on him in small amounts but with this film it has turned to a full blown crush.

Section 375

Section 375 turned out to be a decent watch. I like old Akshaye Khanna.

War

War   is it a good film? No. Is it entertaining? Yes. For the wrong reasons? Yes. I had a good time with this.

Her Private Life

Her Private Life well I chose this just to try it out and ended up loving it. I would have given it a 10 out of 10 if not for the convoluted relations in the last few episodes. The weird thing is that I don't really care for either of the leads. Park Min Young is an actress I didn't like but who chooses projects that I like. Note the present tense, yep I give in. I love her. She gave me Choi Ji Woo vibes but better. I don't even remember seeing the male lead in anything else (maybe vaguely but can't name the show to save my life) and he is not my type but I love the character and he did good with it. Also insane chemistry between the leads. Not the smoldering kind but the compatible kind, they genuinely seem to enjoy themselves. I really liked this drama, an unexpected surprise.

The Accident

The Accident turned out to be entertaining fluff and I enjoyed it, although it is not a good book in my opinion.
