Ragini MMS 2

Photo from wikipedia

Ragini MMS 2    it is not good, I liked Sunny Leone and the male lead Saahil Prem though (he was handsome). And there were a couple of good jokes.

Ragini MMS

Ragini MMS  It was better than I thought it would be. It was also interesting to watch Rajkumar Rao (an actor I don't like but appreciate).

The Henna Artist

The Henna Artist   was alright I suppose, although I probably would not have liked it as much if it was not that great reading performance.

A Suitable Boy

A Suitable Boy is exceptionally good. Everything in it worked for me so well that I wanted to shake the author's hand at the end.

It is emotional, humorous, at some scenes full of suspense and dread and takes you on a rollercoaster of great storytelling.

Om Shanti Om

 Photo from imdb

Om Shanti Om  this is weird but I liked it better at the second viewing warts (many warts) and all. Not only I LOVE Deepika Padukone now but for some reason I cried a lot during the sad parts (that reason probably is my upcoming period).

Jodhaa Akbar

Jodhaa Akbar  it was not as good this second time. And I did not even like it that much the first time.

The Devourers

The Devourers  turned out to be a decent novel. It is literary horror (is that a genre??) and I liked it a lot. The audio version is elegantly and wonderfully performed. Recommended if you like your horror with literature.

Mirzapur Season 2

Mirzapur second season is just as good as the first. Even more entertaining and I really enjoyed it. Also loved Vijay Sharma.

Thappad

Photo from www.imdb.com

Thappad is another feminist film starring Thaapses Pannu. I think they should make more of these. I liked this film very much and think it a worthy cause to show women in various socio economic situations and their reactions to domestic violence (it is necessary to say various types of violence is shown in the film but the main story is when a woman decides to leave her husband over one drunken slap - and she was so right to do so!!!)

Raazi

Photo from www.imdb.com

Raazi  is a film I have been meaning to watch if I came across it and I did. So it ended up being a decent spy thriller and Aaliya Baht is excellent in the lead.

Ludo is not a very good film but I liked it a lot. The cast is worth it.

Breathe

Photo from www.imdb.com

Breathe  unknowingly, I have watched the sequel before seeing this. I liked this one a bit better, there are some weak points but I liked the idea and acting. Recommended

Thugs of Hindostan

Thugs of Hindostan well it was not a good film but I liked it anyway.

Mardaani

Photo from www.imdb.com

Mardaani is not so good but as a woman I enjoyed watching a female character who overcomes the baddies not only with her wits but also with her martial prowess. I love Rani Mukherji, she may not be a person I'd like in real life but on screen I enjoy watching her a lot and love her voice too. So this one worked for me.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

Photo from www.imdb.com
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani  well it was an entertaining, a bit silly film. The problem is I don't like Ranbir Kapoor. I can 't  understand the appeal and whatever charm there is, completely escapes me.  Deepika Padukone on the other hand was really good in this one.

Raat Akeli Hai

Raat Akeli Hai is an alright film. I liked the mystery aspect and the actors were all fine. I didn't love it or anything but had a decent enough time.

Kahaani

Kahaani,  so it seems that the new blogger does not allow publish images through a url (although they show up when I first publish the post) so no photo for this one. I liked it during the first viewing and it certainly aged well. Recommended if you like mysteries.

Haider

Haider is the third Shakespeare play adaptation from Vishal Bhardwaj. And it suffers from being filmed in a different environment than the other two (Maqbool and Omkara were both in the gangster world) It is a good film but the tragic history overshadows the personal focus. Shahid Kapoor performance is uneven (very bad in some scenes, excellent in others) but the rest of the cast, leading by Tabu are excellent.

She

She is the story of the emancipation of Bhumika through undercover work I suppose. The first thing that comes to mind here is that I was probably conditioned to look for twists and in the end there were not any so I was surprised anyway. The second thing is that the show is sexy but there is no nudity. She even makes love with her bra on. I'm fine with no nudity but in this case it kind of jarred. I love the actors here and I like it that she has found her power in the end. I just thought that it would have been nice to see that awful husband getting his ass kicked. Alas.
