Shtisel

Photo from imdb

Shtisel  was a welcome surprise. I never thought I'd like it but wanted to check it out and I was instantly hooked. It was good to the last drop.

The Dragon Republic

The Dragon Republic is a good novel but for some reason I can't connect with these series. Nothing wrong with them and I actually like the writer's style (and am happy that she is trying her hand in historical fiction) however I could not connect.

Persuasion

Persuasion   it was so so so good that I have finished it in a day.

Believe Me

Believe Me  This one turned out to be so bad that I actually enjoyed it. Nothing wrong with the storytelling and writing but the premise is so out there (not supernatural).

Shadow And Bone

 Photo from imdb

Shadow And Bone    I loved it. Loved it. It is such a good adaptation and I really liked the actors, the costumes, the whole art direction. Everything about it fits very well and I'm looking forward to the next season.

The Change - Up

 Photo from imdb

The Change - Up   it is just not worth it. Every joke fell flat.

Jodhaa Akbar

 Photo from imdb

Jodhaa Akbar  it was not as good this second time. And I did not even like it that much the first time.

Black Rose

Black Rose  I liked it more than I thought I would. There is a reason Ms. Roberts is a best selling author, I suppose, she is a good storyteller and I really liked the main character. And I don't know anything about gardening so it was not that part for me but if you do then give it a go.

The Rhythm Section

The Rhythm Section is mediocre.

Sky Rojo

Photo from imdb

Sky Rojo well, turn your brain off, suspend your disbelief and dive in. I would have liked the story to be over but I see that this one is infected with the second season enfermedad.

The Hunting Party

The Hunting Party
is very entertaining and I had a good time listening to it. I have a fondness for pov storytelling and liked this much more than I would have otherwise.

Sword of Destiny

Sword of Destiny is the third Witcher book I have read and is my favorite so far. It is a collection of short stories but they are somehow linked to each other. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Chinatown

Photo from imdb

Chinatown is a mean film. I don't think I want to re-watch it again.

the Truth

Photo from imdb

The Truth is a little slice of life film and I like those. That certain Kore-eda touch was there too and I loved Catherine Deneuve in this. What a great actress!!!

Notes of A Crocodile

Notes of A Crocodile turned out to be full of angst of young LGBTQ+ people. I think it was a mistake to get it on audio (not that the performance was bad, it was ok), I would have liked it better if I read it in written format. It was a struggle to complete reading but I did.

Valley of The Dolls

Valley of The Dolls moved from retro to classic but it has a certain matter of fact prose that does not satisfy the literary hunger, however it is good storytelling with interesting characters who wandered on paths unexpected by me.

 Photo from imdb

Anna  turned out to be a fun film with not believable action scenes. Female actors can be great in action (for instance Atomic Blonde, similarly has a female spy in the lead role has great and believable action scenes, not here):

In The Fade

 Photo from imdb

In The Fade   well if would have been a fine film if not for one GLARING plot hole that unraveled the whole story for me. Diane Kruger though, is fantastic in this role.

King of Staten Island

 Photo from imdb

King of Staten Island was more emotional than I thought it would be. The film benefits from the likable on screen presence of its lead.

Spider's Web

Spider's Web is ok. I liked A Killer's Mind better.

Sound of Metal

Photo from imdb

Sound of Metal  I was reluctant to watch since I don't like the lead actor. Well I still don't like him but his performance was excellent, excellent (yeah double excellent). Tears were shed throughout.

The Yinyang Master

 Photo from imdb

The Yinyang Master   well I liked this better than the previous Yinyang Master. The actors were better, the art direction was better and I liked the story more.

Nuh Tepesi

Photo from imdb

Nuh Tepesi güzeldi. Özellikle Haluk Bilginer çok çok iyi oynamış.

Confessions A Secret Diary

Confessions A Secret Diary is a fun read but the erotic parts felt too clinical somehow.

The High Note

Photo from imdb

The High Note turned out to be a nice regular film. I liked it. I like Dakota Johnson for no particular reason.

Long Shot

Photo from imdb

Long Shot was just as good the second time.

The Forgotten Garden

The Forgotten Garden   I like Ms. Morton style and this novel suited me very well. I also would like to heap Ms. Caroline Lee for her excellent, top notch narration.

What Happens To My Family?

Photo from imdb

What Happens To My Family   is just what I needed. A 53 episodes of South Korean drama that made me laugh and cry.

The Cutting Room

The Cutting Room turned out to be an unexpected delight. It is a mystery but with mood, atmosphere and a different lead character (whom I liked a lot) surrounded by people I was interested to read about. There is nothing like the feeling when you discover a writer to your own heart.

Matilda

Matilda   I wonder why I have not read this one earlier. It was great and I loved it.
