Major Grom: Plague Doctor   It is an ok film, I fell asleep twice (once rewound and the other time did not since it was just explosions) 

The Silver Skates

The Silver Skates  (oddly only Silver Skates on the poster but "the" is added everywhere)  This one is a nice little fairy tale like film with a female progressive message. The actors were very good and the main lead unassumingly handsome. 

Tears: I think so but I'm on my period.

Anna  turned out to be a fun film with not believable action scenes. Female actors can be great in action (for instance Atomic Blonde, similarly has a female spy in the lead role has great and believable action scenes, not here):

Burnt By The Sun (Utomlennye solntsem) is a film that has been put into my radar many times but for some reason I have passed it by. It is just that I'm not particularly intersted in East European and Russian cinema. I didn't like the photos of the lead actor (also the film's director) either. So I passed that one over many times until it was on Digiturk and I saved it for a rainy day. This Ramadan weekend I decided to give it a go. And it started normally but at some point it just hit my heart like a hammer, I didn't see it coming and I enjoyed the pain. This film turned out to be great and I highly recommend it to everyone. I was crying and crying from that certain point and till the end. 

Anna Karenina

Oh I wish I have not deleted Anna Karenina from my phone before I took a sceen cap. The lady on the cover looked so similar to the description of Anna in the novel.

I don't think there is much else left to say about this one. This novel is one of the best novels (past and now). The characters, their interactions, descriptions of the surroundings (both urban and rural) are all masterful and brings the pure joy of art into the reader's soul. This time I was especially impressed with how Levin (he is one of my literary crushes, men you can't find in real life) SPOILER     came into faith. It is towards the end of the novel and one of the best passages to describe how it is to believe.

From the first time I have read it, I have found Kitty and Levin's story more interesting than Anna and Vronsky's. This time again I felt it. It is just that these characters are so unlikable, people I'd not want to sit and chat with, that their relationship didn't feel as powerful and interesting as Kitty and Levin's. However it is Tolstoy's power of pen that I have cried so much during Anna and Seretsa's reunion.

All in all this is a must read for anyone who can read.
