Perdida

Perdida I really liked it. It was not that good a film to be honest but I liked the fact that the beautiful lead character is also a bad ass who makes the bad guys pay. I did not see the twist coming but it didn't surprise or shock me. All in all it was nice to look at and entertaining and had the kind of cinematography I liked,  but still it is not that good a film. 

Ataúd Blanco: El Juego Diabólico

Ataúd Blanco: El Juego Diabólico (Trans. White Coffin: The Diabolical Game) started decently but quickly turned into a boring mess. Yet another Spanish learning casualty. The acting was surprisingly strong though. 

La Cordillera (The Summit)

La Cordillera  (The Summit) is not the type of film I'd chose just looking by plot but for some reason I though it was adapted from a bestseller I saw in bookstores when in Buenos Aires. I love the ubiquitous Ricardo Darin (whenever there is a big budget Spanish speaking film, he is usually there, in the small independent ones too) and think the world of his acting but it somehow seemed political and it was but it was also a tense, slow revealing type of film that I really like. The villain is not visible at first but we get to meet him peeling layer by layer and I loved it. Also I liked the hotel the presidents stayed in the film. I really would have liked to stay there for some time. 

The Red String (El Hilo Rojo)

The Red String (El Hilo Rojo) I have taken a break from the underwhelming Spanish rom coms and decided to give a romance film (sans com) a try. This one turned to be OK but not really that good. The accents are different and it was kind of hard to understand. The actors were very pretty and easy on the eyes. Colombia looked like a nice country to visit. 

Truman

Truman I only watched because it said that it is a festival darling and I like the two male leads, and I wanted to hear Spanish. However it turned out to be a brilliant film with so much feeling that I cried all throughout. The leads were perfect the story very simple and touching, the actors so very good. 

Thesis On A Homicide (Tesis Sobre Un Homicido)

Thesis On A Homicide kind of bored me but I struggled to finish it since I was able to understand a few words of Spanish. 

El Secreto De Sus Ojos (The Secret In Their Eyes)

El Secreto De Sus Ojos I admit to be only curious of this film when they made a remake. And I'm so glad I watched it because even though I saw the twists etc. I very much enjoyed a different style of melodrama. One that made me cry with pain and with joy at different times. I highly recommend this.
