The Rage of Dragons

The Rage of Dragons   it is such a welcome surprise. I did not expect to like it so much. And it turned out to be one of those novels which made me stop everything else and read. I'm eager for the second novel.

And do yourself a favour and get the audio book. Amazing performance.

Ölümlü Dünya

Ölümlü Dünya galiba bu karantina koşullarında izlerken normalde eğleneceğimden daha çok eğlendim. İyi bir film mi? Hayır bence ama güldürdü mü? Güldürdü bazı yerlerde.

XX

XX turned out to be not very good. The sequences in between the short films were better than the actual ones.

Cover Her Face

Cover Her Face is good but I like her non Dalgliesh novels better.

Goodbye, My Princess

Goodbye, My Princess turned out to be a decent watch with some stupidity but overall engaging. I liked the female lead better.

Seventeen

Seventeen is a good but it was not very special to me.

Winter Garden

Winter Garden is one of those novels where you inevitable succumb to tears but you do not like yourself crying for it. It is a decent novel but...

Extraction

Extraction unfortunately fully focused on its (very good) action scenes and forgot about the rest. I like action so I enjoyed it very much but I would have preferred some sort of layout other than cliché over cliché. But the actors were good, the locale was good and the action was good enough to make me stop grumbling. Sadly it is not a good film, but it has good action scenes so viewing is not a waste of time if you are into action.

Time To Hunt

Time To Hunt well I was eager to watch this one. The premise sounded interesting, the cast was good but in the end it didn't work. At all. The gun scenes were good, the chase scenes were good, the friendship scenes were good but nothing came together good. The direction is the most important aspect of film making I suppose.

She

She is the story of the emancipation of Bhumika through undercover work I suppose. The first thing that comes to mind here is that I was probably conditioned to look for twists and in the end there were not any so I was surprised anyway. The second thing is that the show is sexy but there is no nudity. She even makes love with her bra on. I'm fine with no nudity but in this case it kind of jarred. I love the actors here and I like it that she has found her power in the end. I just thought that it would have been nice to see that awful husband getting his ass kicked. Alas.

Hyena

Hyena turned out to be sexy, fun and an entertaining fight the system story. I love a good hero redemption through love trope and the main female character is amazing. Both leads were perfect. Anyway this was good fun.

Tanner's Scheme

Tanner's Scheme was not bad enough to DNF but not good enough to truly enjoy. The intimate scenes were decent I guess.

Fauda: Season 3

Fauda Season 3  unfortunately was not very good. It neither has the finesse of Season 1 nor has the emotional heft of Season 2. Still I did not DNF it.

The Untamed

The Untamed  well, God bless the youtube channel that recommended it (and also warned that the first few episodes are not an indicator of the whole) it is like tailor made for me. I have inhaled all of the 50 episodes. I was in tears so much during and I loved all of it to bits. From the cast, art direction, costumes, special effects everything worked amazingly well. Oh but the story!! The story is amazing. Our hero (the titular Untamed) is an orphan boy who is raised by a clan and became a brother to the actual children of the clan master and his wife. These three are inseparable. The girl is the elder sister, a mature and loving person who gets along exceptionally well with our hero Wei Wuxian. The boy is a hot head with a kind heart who often causes arguments but also knows how to apologise and do good. The first few episodes can be a bit confusing but as soon as the story has a sixteen year old flashback we are with these three who are going to another clan for a course to learn more about their martial art skills. Wei Wuxian is a happy go lucky boy who is an optimist who likes to drink and generally enjoys company. At this course place is our second male lead Lan Zhan who is a studious student who hardly speaks a word and is very strict and rule abiding. Well it was love at first sight for Lan Zhan but it took some time for him to really accept it. Same goes for Wei Wuxian, he immediately likes Lan Zhan but then again he is inclined to like people. These two go from adventure to mischief during the course and the story takes of from there. Allow me to say Wei Wuxian is a tragic hero worthy of Yang Guo. And male/male romance is definitely not my jam but I fell for it here. The actors have amazing chemistry and both play their roles perfectly. And I was rooting for them every step of the way.

All in all I give this one a 10 out of 10. Thank God I was able to watch this one.

The Poisonwood Bible

The Poisonwood Bible is a book I got from one promotion sale or the other and these are always a gamble (I remember winning big with Sarah Waters). This time I won again. It is a gripping story, well told, the type of book that will pull you out from where ever you are and bring you in the story. Highly recommended.

Howl's Moving Castle

Howl's Moving Castle I love Miyazaki (the Father) films and this one is a bit more special, being a love story to my own heart.

The Rebel

The Rebel well I loved it. Cried during it, shouted at the screen and all around had a good time.

Sunburn

Sunburn turned out to be a good read. I did not fall in love with it or anything but had a good time reading and will recommend without hesitation.

Search: WWW

Search: WWW  turned out to be a drama I unexpectedly enjoyed very much, shed tears over, even. I love it that the main leads were all strong, intelligent, capable women and the cast, production and art direction were all top notch.

The Wicked Girls

The Wicked Girls I love this novel. It was almost tailor made for me.

Seven Blades In Black

Seven Blades In Black turned out to be just ok. I prefer a different sort of humour and the prose style did not agree with me but it has some good ideas and it is fast paced so it was not a total loss.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai this old favorite did not age very well. The thing that disturbed me most (and it has a lot of disturbing stuff) is the transformation of the female lead, i.e She is a better basketball player but in the second half she is beaten because she is wearing a sari. Anyway it was a nostalgic viewing and I love one of the songs in it but I don't think I want to watch this one again.

One More Happy Ending

One More Happy Ending turned out to be inspired by SATC and did an average job of it. I have watched it to the end and was entertained but I didn't really love it.
