I'll Give You The Sun

I'll Give You The Sun turned out to be ok but I'm not the novel's target audience and it kind of mattered here. I recommend to young adults.

Hi Bye Mama!

Hi Bye, Mama!  I knew this was a tear jerker and waited until the end of Ramadan to watch it (dehydration is a risk during that time) and very glad I did since I cried rivers, but not the sort of crying I did over The Untamed (heart breaking) but kind of on a lighter scale. Anyway this was a good one.

Beautiful Animals

Beautiful Animals turned out to be great. I liked the prose and the storytelling. The characters are made interesting and I was eager to find out how it will all end. I hope to read more from this author.

Lullaby

Lullaby is one of the free stories gifted by Audible. I never really was interested in them but I needed something short enough to accompany my cleaning and I said why not? Well it was not really that good but it was not enough for me to seek this author's other works either.

Shadow of The Exile

Shadow of The Exile was not really to my taste, I mean it was not bad but it was not really that good either. It worked well with the grocery shopping during which I did not have to give it my full attention.

White Lines

White Lines turned out to be very entertaining. Despite some glaring plot points, I enjoyed it very much. The actors were all good and the cinematography and art direction excellent, just to my taste.

Birds of Prey: And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn

Birds of Prey: And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn  aaaand just when I was saying that all women cast films are not that good I watched this. I liked it very much, the tempo, the cast, the visuals, the script all were good. And Ewan McGregor did great with another villain role.

Rough Night

Rough Night turned out to be mediocre despite its lively cast. I applaud making of female centric films but this may not be a good example of it.

Skin Privilege

Skin Privilege  as good as ever. I really liked Karin Slaughter's novels and this is one of her finest. But it is best (although not necessary) if you read the first five novels before this.

One Day At A Time - Seasons I, II, III

One Day At A Time while a bit preachy, has its heart at the right place. I liked it and even cried some during - although not as much as the female lead.

Normally sitcoms are not my go to but in Ramadan in need something short and PG.

A Rainy Day In New York

A Rainy Day In New York  well I know I should not have liked this film, but I did.

Holding

Holding turned out to be better than I expected it to be. The mystery is not that much of one but I loved the characters and the whole mood. I think I'm going to get the second novel too.

The Dilemma

The Dilemma  man this was a very dry and useless film. I watched it to the end only because the fast break hour was approaching and I felt too bothered to just turn it off and choose a new film.

Anansi Boys

Anansi Boys is delightful and I enjoyed it very very much.

The Longest Yard

The Longest Yard this may be my least favorite Adam Sandler film, in fact I did not like it.

Diary of A Murderer

Diary of A Murderer  started a bit off for me since I did not like the eponymous story. But I kept at it and was rewarded since I loved the rest of the stories. I highly recommend if the first story does not work for you.

The Wrong Missy

The Wrong Missy  is not really very good but I watched it anyway. The male lead was too old to play the character.

Cuckoo

Cuckoo was not bad. I wouldn't call it great though.

Revenge of The Pontianak

Revenge of The Pontianak was not what I expected. First of all the visuals were very good, the type of cinematography I like. And I was very much into it and shed tears at the end and had nightmares after.

Cinayet Süsü

Cinayet Süsü  eh işte diyelim. İyi değildi, çok çok kötü de değildi. Eh işte.

Chappie

Chappie is one of those films you somehow do not want to watch despite knowing that you'll like it. And I did like it a lot. I also shed more than a few tears which is not good when you are fasting (that is why I can't watch some things I really want to)

The Escape

The Escape well that was what I needed. A nice romance (barely any ero). I like Mary Balough's style and it appeals to me so if you like her go for it and if you have not read any of her novels yet, this one is good for checking whether this writer's work is for you or not. Also there was a tidy little novella included in my version, telling the most proper romance of all :)

Strange The Dreamer

Strange The Dreamer was a bargain bin pick. And it was better than I thought it was going to be. It is really young adult though so I won't be continuing the series unless I find them extra cheap somewhere.

The Valhalla Murders

The Valhalla Murders  well in the photo it says Brot but it was the only one which included the two leads so I put it. This was not bad at all. The main factor for me was that I did not know any of the actors so the whole thing was entirely believable at another level.

Sleeping Beauties

Sleeping Beauties ended up being good but a bit long, still I liked it. It reminded me of old Stephen King novels only a lot lighter.

Never Have I Ever

Never Have I Ever turned out to be very good. I have enjoyed it very much and even shed tears (but seriously I usually cry at anything)

The Good Place

The Good Place turned out to be a nice show (I'm watching more sitcoms during Ramadan) I like Kristen Bell so I usually like the stuff she is in anyway but in this case I think I would have liked this even without the charms of Ms. Bell.

Devil's Knot

Devil's Knot is a film telling a true story which is so chilling that this time I liked the restraint of the director. It is a long film but I never yawned once (despite fasting and the time being close to eat). There is a the horrible murder and its implications on one of the families, there is the court stage and one private inspector's relentless search for the truth and there are the accused who were probably innocent. It looks like the real killer(s) are still out there.

Love Wedding Repeat

Love Wedding Repeat  did not work. Everything in it was a miss. A total miss. I think they wanted to recapture Four Weddings And A Funeral magic. The only part worth applauding were the actors who tried hard.

Center Stage

Center Stage I really liked this film the first time I saw it and very glad to say that I still liked it as much twenty years later. For some reason it is both fictional and real, fun and serious etc.

Haider

Haider is the third Shakespeare play adaptation from Vishal Bhardwaj. And it suffers from being filmed in a different environment than the other two (Maqbool and Omkara were both in the gangster world) It is a good film but the tragic history overshadows the personal focus. Shahid Kapoor performance is uneven (very bad in some scenes, excellent in others) but the rest of the cast, leading by Tabu are excellent.

Hotel Transylvania

Hotel Transylvania  I can't believe I have cried during this. Yes, I did.

Death Without Company

Death Without Company well as with the first novel, I enjoyed the characters, environment and their interactions a lot better than the mystery itself.

My Stupid Boss

My Stupid Boss  is entertaining if you are into quirky films that are totally non realistic on purpose. I enjoyed it and shed tears even.

Hush

Hush turned out to be decent with the cinematography I liked. It was not that special though.

Thoroughbreds

Thoroughbreds turned out a nice, tidy film. Nothing earth shattering but decent enough.
