Broadchurch Season 1

Broadchurch is the first TV show I have finished as I registered at Netflix. There were a lot of good things said about this one and it has been recommended me by various sites on net (based on to my purchases) and indeed they were right to recommend it to me. It was not truly great (not like Forbrydelssen) but it had a lot good points.

1- David Tennat. I have never liked this guy but this one caused me to like yet another actor I didn't until then.

2- Not being able to see the twist. This show made me remember the good old days when I could never see any twist and guess the murderer. I truly had no idea and was very surprised when the killer was revealed.

3- Cinematography. It had that clean cinematography with lots of close up shots to the actors' faces.


The negatives were very few in number but definitely not minor. I didn't like the script and the way the story unfolded. There were a lot of red herrings but they were not organic to the story if you know what I mean. 

Saving Grace

Saving Grace turned out to be just OK. Not as good as her other novels. 

A Drink Before The War

A Drink Before The War is the first Kenzie novel. And so far it is the worst in the series. Having said that, Mr. Lehane is a wonderful story teller and I loved the book. Sort of inhaled it actually but not as intensely as Gone Baby Gone. 

Seven Japanese Tales

Seven Japanese Tales I have read these short stories spread through a long time. And I love Junichiro Tanizaki (although his characters are mostly pervs) and loved the stories too. 

The Raven Boys

The Raven Boys was just not for me. 

Utanç

Utanç beni normalden daha fazla etkiledi. 1970'li yılların başlarında Türkiye nasılmış. Neyse üzüldüm üzüldüm sonra twitter'a bakarken diğer insanlarında bu filmi izlediğini gördüm. Bazıları fena etkilenmişti (benim gibi). Atıf Yılmaz çok iyi bir yönetmen.

Missisipi Burning

Mississippi Burning I liked it a lot. The story was told in interesting fragments not really delving into the characters of the participants but giving clues about what kind of people they are. And my new found love and appreciation for Gene Hackman increased after this performance. He was the best in the film along with Frances McDormand.
